Frank Giampietro is an American poet and the author of the collection Begin Anywhere, for which he received a Florida Book Award. He holds an MA from Washington College, an MFA from Vermont College, and a PhD in English from Florida State University. Giampietro lives in Farmington, Maine, with his wife and two children and works as the managing editor of Alice James Books.

I began to let them go in 1975

          because I wanted to stop spanking you, daughter.
And my little cockatiel, she is in love

          with the long plume of my thumbnail
that glows like Moses’s veil in morning sun.
