Rebecca Lehmann holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and a PhD in English from Florida State University. Her first poetry collection, Between the Crackups, won the 2010 Salt Crashaw Prize. Lehmann lives in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she is a visiting assistant professor of English at Viterbo University.

Carrabelle Beach

This music makes me feel like getting drunk.
The potbellied afternoon ambles across the highway

and we’re two nobodies in our rainbow beach chairs,
dirty feet burrowed into sand and rotting seaweed.
