Andi Boyd was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and has spent most of her life in South Louisiana. She earned a BA from Northwestern State University and an MFA in poetry from Texas State University, where she is a composition instructor. Boyd lives in San Marcos, Texas, with her husband.

Jellyfish

I think this one is dead.

He waves around the jellyfish like a flag,
a hole punched through it by the stick
he carries it on.


I follow him to the small sandbar
apparent in the low tide,
which is covered by the limp bodies
of jellyfish.
