Sam Taylor is the author of the poetry collection Body of the World. His poem “Snowed-In, Little Mountain Valley” was written while Taylor lived as a caretaker for a remote wilderness refuge that was snowed-in during the winter, without phone, electricity, or Internet. Taylor is an assistant professor in the MFA program at Wichita State University.
