A Farmer’s Life: Xiwuqi, Inner Mongolia

Back home in Inner Mongolia for my vacation last summer, I visited the Bateer family—farmers living in the grasslands near the town of Xiwuqi. I followed their daily life and their determination to hold on to tradition amid the gradual changes taking place through modernization.
