Daria-Ann Martineau was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. She holds a BA in speech and hearing science as well as an MFA in poetry from New York University. She lives in New York City.

shoes deep red like a peach’s innards.
I wink innocence for the cameras.
I have a right to be here, distressed.
