Tobias Wolff is the author of the celebrated memoir This Boy’s Life, as well as the PEN/Faulkner Award–winning novella, The Barracks Thief, and several story collections considered contemporary classics, including In the Garden of North American Martyrs and Back in the World. In 1989 Wolff, cited as “a storyteller of relentless curiosity, moral industry, and wit,” received the Rea Award for the Short Story for his contributions to the art form of the short story, and in 2015 he received the National Medal of Arts for his contributions as a writer and educator. Wolff teaches at Stanford University.
