Belated

A Video Story

by K. Reed Petty

A young Brooklynite needs money for rent, and so she emails an old boyfriend, asking him to pay her back a $2,000 loan from when they were dating. So begins a correspondence involving several characters, whose emails we watch unfurl as the characters type, revise, and send each one and the complications and surprises grow. “Belated” is a charmingly affecting story told in a thoroughly original form.
