Lucien Darjeun Meadows was raised in West Virginia and earned his MFA in creative writing from Southern Illinois University. A winner of the AWP Intro Journals Project, he has also received recognition from the Academy of American Poets. Meadows lives in Fort Collins, Colorado.

To the rocking of my father’s truck down.
The holler, the only thing that made me.
Stop crying as a baby. You said not.
Eating would help. Me or them, you never.
