Oh You Little Faith

And what if they do call to each other,
              the cells,
what if it does choose,
              the egg, I mean,
                           her favorite spermatozoon, what if
the cat can tell where
              the ache is, and that’s why she nestles
                           there, thrumming, and expresses herself onto your leg
                                          with her special jaw-scent,
