Taije Silverman, poet and translator, is the author of the collection Houses Are Fields. Her work has been featured in Best American Poetry 2016 and 2017. A translator of Italian poets, she is also the author of Selected Poems of Giovanni Pascoli (Princeton University Press, 2019). She teaches in the English department at the University of Pennsylvania and lives in Philadelphia.

symbolized my ambivalence, and she heaved
the sack into my arms, then said, Now! let it go.
