A Prophecy Is Nothing

without the fulfillment of what was foretold.
The mind, pried from another sleeping
pill’s glue, in the screen’s blue light, choosing
among visions. Who knows me
as the search bar does, which holds
as sacred its grasp of me
as a habitual animal?
