Daddy’s Girl

A Novel Excerpt

Enzo’s had a mural of a country villa with a fountain and a naked angel playing the harp. Marley loved this place. They were out celebrating tonight, because a disgruntled ex-employee of Daddy’s, a “coo-coo-la-la” as he’d called him, had brought a lawsuit against his company and the judge had just dismissed it, which was apparently fantastic news. (Though it didn’t sound fantastic. Not like you just won an Oscar or found out your crush secretly loves you back, more like one of your ten ulcers has calmed down a bit. For now. But anyway Daddy was happy. So everyone was happy.)
